Event Description

Kiln’s latest project is Golf Course War Machine, by Chris Harris, which is being co-produced with No Boundaries Theatre.

Pippa is dazed, hungover and staging her own protest on the roundabout outside the Celtic Manor on the eve of the NATO summit and she's about to trample down the fence.

Golf Course War Machine is one woman's battle to place Wales in the centre of the global map.

AJ's Coffee House

“At Clock Tower, we felt there weren’t enough opportunities for local writers to try things out and see how they work in front of an audience. But this is an essential part of the journey to a finished creation. So we came up with Kiln. It is now in its third season, and we are delighted to have been part of the journey of so many contemporary gems.” - Steve Bennett, Executive Director of Clock Tower Theatre Company

Kiln does what it says on the tin: it takes new writing and cooks up a storm. Emerging playwrights are given whatever ingredients they might need, be it actors, a director, or a producer, together with time and space to mould them all together. The final stage of the experiment is exposure to the gentle heat of a warm audience.

This piece has really caught something of the zeitgeist. It explores the humanity behind the political rebel (brexiteers included). I wrote a blog about it here:
