Michelangelo Drawing Blood brings together music, movement, dance and film to explore this remarkable man and his multi-faceted talent. This is a production that sees 21st century theatre meeting 16th century culture. Michelangelo Drawing Blood delves into the forces that drove his genius - an obsession with human anatomy, a passionate response to the male body and an equally intense Christian faith.

Dancer Aaron Jeffrey takes the role of Michelangelo whilst Stefano Giglioni represents the male models that provided the artist’s subject matter for many of his paintings, murals and sculptures. Joining the two male performers are five musicians: countertenor James Hall and four instrumentalists playing theorbo, recorders, viola da gamba and percussion.

Sound Affairs (Salome, Boulevard of Broken Dreams) the company bringing us this remarkable production, has been making striking and innovative stage shows for over twenty years.
