Event Description

Are we real? Is there a single part of us that is more real than the rest of us? A kind of true-self?

In this project I want to dive into the relationship with my mother. By creating unusual and unfamiliar meetings, we will meet each other outside of our normal mother-daughter relationship. Supported by a WalesLab development grant from National Theatre Wales, we will cross the Irish Sea by ferry together, which is something we have not done since I first left Ireland to go to university in Manchester, aged 17. We will take the route we drove 17 years ago, only this time we layer that map over the new terrain: Cork-Manchester becomes Cork-Bridgend.

A Gathering:

To reflect and share some of the findings of our journey, we are hosting an informal gathering in Ty Carnegie, Wyndham St, Bridgend (the old town library) on Tuesday 11th March 3-4pm. There will be tea/coffee and biscuits and an opportunity to chat with us about the project. This is a public event and open to everyone. If you are planning to come, it would be great if you could let us know beforehand if you can, so we have numbers for refreshments. Email Tracy on trebreathnach@gmail.com or text 07588871843, or messaging me through the community page here.
