Event Description

It is 1938. Singer, pianist, conductor and one of Cardiff's most famous daughters, Madame Clara Novello Davies, looks back at her life and her relationship with her son Ivor, whose unexpected fame has eclipsed hers.

In a funny and at times poignant final performance, she tells her story, sings his songs, and allows us a glimpse of her conflicting emotions - envy, guilt, regret...and a new feeling of invisibility.

With Rosamund Shelley as Clara Novello Davies, and piano from Christopher Littlewood. Directed by Pip Broughton.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Terry Jones. I had the pleasure to work with him @NTWtweets. He was a brilliant artist who brought joy and laughter to the world. RIP

Mae pob un ohonom yn National Theatre Wales yn drist i glywed am farwolaeth Terry Jones, a ysgrifennodd y straeon y seiliwyd ein cynhyrchiad Silly Kings yn 2013 arnynt. Daeth â llawenydd i lawer o bobl drwy gydol ei oes. Anfonwn ein cydymdeimlad at ei deulu a’i ffrindiau.
