Event Description

Launch of The Kim Fielding Award

Co-ordinated by a group of the friends of Kim Alexander Fielding who sadly passed away earlier this year. Each member of the collective and the selected artists in the exhibition had a strong connection with tactileBOSCH, the studio and gallery space initiated and run by Kim in Llandaff for over 10 years. Since its inception in the summer of 2000, tactileBOSCH was a pioneer in challenging and thought provoking art across a myriad of media. It is the intention of the gathered friends to further these themes through this exhibition and ongoing projects. paradiseLOST represents the follow up to the 2007 Paradise exhibition. Housed in the rich history of the immigration & customs building of Cardiff Bay, a decrepit building once full of life and activity of those first coming to Wales. The exhibition features a roster of over 40 artists, ranging from installed work in-situ, visceral performative works to quiet considered sculptures with the odd forays into lens-based media.

If Paradise is a step to the left, paradiseLOST is a jump into the void…
