Performative Group Research Group
We will be reasearching through process, which will take the form of an extended game in which heirarchical societies will be created by the group based on the houses in a pack of cards.
The creation of these sociteies will include devising political policies and economic frameworks, looking at the effect of status on members of a group, building structures understand issues of territory, and deciphering the significance of cultural activity in society.
We'll also intersperse the activity with feedback loops, so all participants will have the chance to form the development of the game.
The process will be documented internally by the group, and part of our research will be to investigate how documentation can be utilised to best represent a live event.
We will also be showing films & reading texts & have chances to present work so would really enourage those of you who are keen to to come, to let us know your availabilty and what you might like to bring to discuss.
This is going to be an open event, and we hope to have people coming from RCA, Performance Devising, Curating and practicing artists attending so its also going to be great chance to meet new people and cross-pollinate ideas!
We'll start with a brunch at 11 am on Saturday 31st and the event will run through until Monday eve.
We'll be sharing a timetable with you soon so you can see our activities over the few days, but can say that each process session will run for apporxismtely 2 1/2 hours followed by a discussion or presentation.
We hope that you feel intreguied to join us, please let us know if you can come, we think its going to be a really great weekend!
