Senedd | National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff
Lunchtime event
Sponsored by Bethan Jenkins AM
Chair of the Cross-Party Group on Human Rights and Peace
Come and meet with Chase Mader, author of The Passion of Bradley Manning, the true story of the Haverfordwest-schooled US soldier who faces life imprisonment for leaking half a million classified documents to Wikileaks. Chase Madar is a Lawyer and contributor to The London Review of Books & Le Monde Diplomatique
Bradley Manning will go on trial on June 3, having already spent three years in prison without trial, and could spend the rest of his days behind bars without any hope of parole, for revealing information to the public about the US wars, torture and other human rights abuses.
Chase is in the UK at this crucial time to promote his book and discuss the issues surrounding Bradley Manning’s trial. The meeting has been arranged with Wise Up Action, the group that followed the National Theatre of Wales’ production, The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning, providing workshops and other activities tied into the case.
Chase will be speaking in the Media Briefing Room, in the Senedd, from midday to 1.30pm on Thursday, May 9.
This event is free—all members of the public and media are welcome.

Cardiff, CF99 1NA United Kingdom
Dear NTW18ers,
I have just added a BRADLEY MANNING event to EVENTS for THURS 9TH MAY
A talk in the SENEDD on THURSDAY 9TH MAY by Chase Madar, (a NY based human rights lawyer and contributor to The London Review of Books and Le Monde Diplomatique), who is over here from the States promoting his book 'The Passion of Bradley Manning'
This lunchtime talk is sponsored by Bethan Jenkins AM (chair of cross party human rights group), and it would be brilliant to see some of you.
And many congratulations on your recent awards and most especially on going to EDINBURGH - might see you there! So glad the production is going to air again. Bradley will most likely be nearing the end of his trial while the show is on there, as they are expecting it will last for around 12 weeks, and it begins on 3rd JUNE. There will be a big demo at the US EMBASSY just before this on SATURDAY 1ST JUNE if anyone is around.
