The Republic of the Imagination and Theatr Cynefin invite you to join us for a presentation of the Cardiff stage of our theatre research project. The Conference of the Birds brings artists from 10 different European countries together to explore the way different modes of theatre – classical, participative and immersive, bring about different modes of consciousness.
Taking as its motif the Sufi poem by Farid ud-Din Attar that tells of a journey towards liberation, the performance will be site-specific and multi-sensory and will involve the audience themselves going on a journey of discovery through the seven valleys to the castle of the Simorgh – a mystical bird.
Audience numbers are limited to 25 per performance so please be sure to book your place on this adventure. The venue is just around the corner to the red building (Merchant Place) directly opposite the main enterence to the Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
Strive to discover the mystery before life is taken from you.
If while living you fail to find yourself, to know yourself,
how will you be able to understand
the secret of your existence when you die?
Farid ud-DinAttar
