Event Description

TODAY!!
DANCE DOUBLE BILL: AN EXAMINATION and DANCE I MADE ON MY BATHROOM FLOOR

Wednesday 25 Nov 2pm & 8pm (DANCE - Limited Seating)

AN EXAMINATION - CREATED & PERFORMED BY CATHERINE BENNETT | INSPIRED BY STEPHEN GROSZ'S THE EXAMINED LIFE
At one time or another most of us have felt trapped by things we find ourselves thinking or doing. Caught by our own impulses, we feel unable to go forward and yet we believe there must be a way. The examined life is about change, the desire to change. And because change and loss are deeply connected - there cannot be change without loss. We receive and we lose, we desire to understand and to be understood. The piece will be performed in two different spaces, in the first we watch, in the second we watch and listen!

DANCES I MADE ON MY BATHROOM FLOOR - CREATED & PERFORMED BY GEMMA PRANGLE
A work which began when Gemma noticed how much time she spent dancing in her bathroom compared to the studio. Lying somewhere between narcissism and fear, Dances I made on my Bathroom Floor explores the relationship between ritual, creativity and confidence in private spaces. 'She dances in the shower, cleans her teeth before spitting words into the sink, rinses, falls over, repeats...'

Please note that audience numbers for this double-bill of performances are strictly limited. If you are a Festival Pass holder and would like to attend, we recommend calling us on 01792 464790 to reserve a seat.
