Event Description

On 25 December 2009, Liu Xiaobo was convicted by the Chinese authorities of ‘incitement to subversion’ for his role in Charter 08, an extraordinary declaration calling for political reform and greater human rights. He is not due for release until 2020.

On 20 March 2012, the International Literature Festival Berlin is organising the second annual Worldwide Reading for imprisoned Chinese writer and Nobel Laureate Liu Xiaobo. The goal of the worldwide reading is to share Liu Xiaobo’s works, and to remind the world that a humanist, a freedom fighter, an outstanding writer, and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize is still in behind bars, and to protest against it.

Wales’ Notional Theatre is proud to be organizing an ‘instant performance’ of the Liu’s poem Wait for Me with the Dust in Cardiff.

Be a part of it by getting in touch: notional.theatre@yahoo.co.uk

or support the free event by turning up and giving the large company of players an audience.

Rehearse at 6.00pm

Instant performance at 6.30pm.

The event will be filmed and uploaded as part of the worldwide event.
