Event Description

Dance film installation by Jo Fong

Witness - Portraits of Women Who Dance

Witness three exceptional dancers as they explore the making of their own choreographic portraits.

Dancers Ino Riga, Eeva-Maria Mutka and Annabeth Berkeley generously share their practice and processes and explain who they are and what dance is to them.

The unique performances that result are both elaborate and supremely personal: as idiosyncratic as the women who dance them.

Three attempts of excellence, intimacy and honesty in performance.

Choreographer and Director      Jo Fong

Filmmakers and Editing         Filipe Alcada and Dawn Collins

Dancers and Choreography Ino Riga, Eeva-Maria Mutkaand Annabeth Berkeley

"Theatre is a rehearsed life, pre-planned, you know your role." Ino Riga

"Is this dancing?" Eeva-Maria Mutka

"You can't always say the truth, sometimes you have to pretend."Annabeth Berkley

"a powerful, intense work" Joanne Fong's 'Falling' 2008
