The Director’s Process: The Goat

Ian Rickson will share his directing process from preparation to performance with a combination of exercises and script analysis on this three day workshop for Living Pictures. The text used is Edward Albee's The Goat, which he will be directing in the new year with Damian Lewis and Sophie Okonedo at the Haymarket Theatre.
Ian Rickson was Artistic Director of the Royal Court Theatre from 1998-2006, presiding over the premieres of plays by Jez Butterworth, Caryl Churchill, Roy Williams and Conor McPherson. Recent productions includeThe Nest (Young Vic and Lyric Belfast), Evening at the Talk House,The Red Lion (National Theatre) and Electra (Old Vic).
In 2009 he was made an Honorary Professor for Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Kent's School of Arts. Ian is also a patron of Living Pictures.
