Show your support for the Festival: WE NEED A CROWD OF 200 PEOPLE
In the evening of the 23rd we need to drum up a large audience for The People Speak's Who Wants to Be...? (7 to 10pm), a collaborative event where the audience writes a brief for a technology-based commission. The £10 ticket fee is your ‘buy-in’ to voting - with the rest of the audience - on how to spend the money. Don’t worry if you’re a technophobe, you don’t need any knowledge or experience of technology to participate but we do need to raise £2,000 in ticket sales which will directly fund the new commission written by the audience. Come and be part of something special and please book now - don't wait until tomorrow we need to know we've got the crowd for the event. http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=CHAPTERARTS&a...

How does Creative Technology affect or influence the theatre?
What do you guys think?

Thanks
Carolina

Hi Carolina - yes, hopefully going to some of it - so much interesting stuff, so little time! Will definately be checking out the Analogue Blogger and the Makers Faire. What are the film pit and game pit though? - can't seem to find out anthing about them...

Still trying to figure out exactly what creative technology is - when I find out I'll try to answer your question!

Laura
Hi Laura,
I'm glad to hear you are coming to festival, I'm really excited about the Makers Faire too.
The Pits are all open discussions led by a panel in a relaxed setting.
Here is some info from the website

Game Pit click here for more info
This event will include a short talk about Simon Games’ recent projects. Simon Games create Mobile Social Games – games played in the street with other people, face to face and over the Internet. Drawing on the history of storytelling, theatre and cinema, Simon’s Johnson and Evans offer an alternative perspective on social spaces and cultural communication. Their brief introduction will be followed by an open discussion.
Panel includes Chair-Victoria Tillotson - Project Manager, iShed, Catherine Paskell-Creative Associate-NTW, Eddo Stern-artist, Emma Westecott-Research Fellow, Simon Games-igFest

Film Pit click here for more info
This Film Pit explores whether anyone can now make and show a film. As with all traditional medium, digital technology has brought about significant changes, for instance to traditional production hierarchies, single narratives to interactive and participatory, and the power held by distribution giants to self and mass distribution.
Speaker include: Chair-David Pope - CEO, NPA, Michael Cousin - Founder, Outcasting, Kate Crowther - Production Executive, Film Agency for Wales, Jamie King - Founder, VODO project and Festival participant

Have a look on the Bloc: Creative Technology in Wales website, hopefully this might help explain what creative technology is!
