SCRIPT WRITING COMPETITION

Frapetsus Productions are aiming to give aspiring writers, actors and directors an opportunity to showcase their talents in a new playwriting competition during the months of April, May and June in 2011.

We are actively seeking new writers to submit a scene or scenes of between 10 and 15 minutes in length for entry into Writer's Block our exciting playwriting competition. We are also seeking actors to take part in these script held performances, and directors to direct the plays submitted.

Writer's Block will take place over four heats on the evenings of 18th April, 2nd May, 16th May and 30th May, and the winner of each heat will then go through to the final of the competition, to take place on 24th June. The heats and the final will be held at the Dylan Thomas Theatre, Maritime Square, Swansea.

This is a great opportunity for writers to have their work seen, as the plays will be judged by leading industry professionals.

The prize for the winning production will be to have (upon completion) a full length version of their play produced by Frapetsus Productions at the Dylan Thomas Theatre in Swansea. Frapetsus have also teamed up with Stagescripts Ltd, an independent publisher and rights-holder, and as well as being professionally produced, the winning entry will get a publishing and rights-management deal with Stagescripts.

Your script will initially be assessed by our in-house writing team and we will inform you if your script has been selected for one of the heats by 1st April 2011. Closing dates for submissions is 18th March 2011. If you have any questions please contact us.
