3rd Age Critics

A chance to headline your views!

If you’ve dreamed a dream of reviewing blockbusters like Les Misérables or you’re a keen theatre-goer whose opinion could steal the show, a new arts critiquing scheme could help you to get your voice heard.

Co-ordinated by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts and Community Development team, the 3rd Age Critics scheme offers expert guidance to help people aged 50 and over to discover new ways to respond to a variety of art forms.

Funded by the council’s Older People’s Strategy, which aims to improve the wellbeing of older people through encouraging them to be mentally and physically active.

If you’re interested in joining the 3rd Age Critics, call Guy O’Donnell, Arts and Community Development Officer on 07977119074, or email guy.odonnell@bridgend.gov.uk

The new 3rd Age Critics group held their first activity last night.

The evening began with an introduction to creating a critical response hosted by Wales Art Review editor Gary Raymond.

This was followed by a meal in the Ffresh restaurant and then their first production to review High Society.

We had 14 new critics attend and the reviews will follow. If you are 50 + and interested in responding critically to the arts in Wales please get in touch.

Thanks to Gary and the staff at the WMC for your support.
