Hiya - since the redesign, there seems to be no link through to this groups discussions anymore. They still exist, and I can access them by clicking through people's profiles, but we should see them listed or at least a link through to the list here on the group page.
Catrin, I think it depends on the objective/purpose of the trailer and how they are executed (e.g., TV, YouTube). For example successful examples are those that go viral, so should be perhaps more designed with the mindset of 'viral messages' people can/want to share (emotional, funny, real, raise social issues, situated/meaningful to community trying to reach), than trailers like you'd see in the cinema or before the movie on a DVD ... Two Boys for the National Opera gained so many views/shares in such a short time period. Hope this helps discussions :-))
Here is a clever website http://www.sound.philips.com/ows/ .I don't think i'd visit it twice, but I think it would be interesting to create a Robert Altman's MASH/Rashomon online story.
Has anyone seen this blog post in the Guardian's Culture Professionals Network, on the merits of theatre trailers?
We'd love to know what you think - it's a debate that crops up a lot here.
Just had this link sent to my inbox - introducing a Smartphone app that can interact with printed content (without needing QR codes), offering an enhanced experience, content download and share buttons so users can move something physical into the online space. Looks pretty cool.
Only a few old discussions from me with very few comments - I would love people to start some new discussions though.
Matt. Where did the other content go from this group? Wasn't there other posts?
