Does your creative work have international scope? ~RESEARCHERS REQUIRE PARTICIPANTS~

DEADLINE for Expressions of Interest 12 NOON, MONDAY 3 JUNE 2013

Working to the remit, ‘Globalising the Welsh Creative Industries’, Researchers require Creatives -- Artistic Directors, Company Directors, Venue Directors, Producers, and Educators, et al, to participate in our research.

We are very excited by the potential of this project, and we are seeking five participants –

Director-level representatives for Production companies of Live Cultural Events; Venue directors; and Educators involved in the teaching drama, media, culture -- for a research project funded by the Creative Exchange Wales Network (CEWN), as part of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Our team have received a grant to research the potential of, and to design/develop an App for ‘localised subtitling’.  The project aims to assert the status of the Welsh language as global rather than a local language.  Stage I of our research and design development will concentrate on the provision of a Welsh language application.

We invite an expression of interest from Wales-based Creatives who work in any language and/or who have a commitment to Welsh language inclusion. For those who already work in the Welsh language, this product also has distinct applications, and actively encourage your input and participation. If you’re category of work has not been listed but you can contribute to this research, please also contact us and tell us why.

We are seeking the five participants to attend two workshops.

Focus Group Workshop (Tues 11 June 2013, Atrium, University of South Wales, Cardiff, 11am – 2pm) The first will be a Focus Group workshop. This workshop will help assess where or if the app sits within a certain section of live events industries and how that sits in place with the companies. We can also begin to ascertain a content and structural stream for the app from this workshop.

Stakeholder Interviews (Thurs 27 June 2013, Atrium, Uni of South Wales, Cardiff, 11am – 2pm)  The second will be Stakeholder interviews with the same or similar providers to be conducted individually & in detail to see where & if the application will fit in to their business/organisation/group.

If the idea of a localised subtitling app for live cultural events peaks your interest, if you can envisage that it might be suitable for your organisation’s creative output, if you wish to participate in the research, and can commit to attending both workshops contact:

Dear All

Thank you to those who have already replied with your expressions of interest to participate.
If you haven't yet, it's not too late. The deadline has been extended to tomorrow, WEDNESDAY 5 JUNE 2013.

The research team that has received funding from Creative Wales Exchange Network (CEWN) part of the larger Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) is recruiting participants for our research.

This is just the starting point for a product which we believe has great potential, and the support and feedback of the key creative players in Wales who work internationally is vital for this work.

We would love to hear from you.

There is an approaching deadline for expressions of interest, Wednesday 5 June, so your soonest reply would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Leslie
