As the story unfolds and she gets to know you, she gets more and more curious. She seems to know things about you that she shouldn’t. Where is this going to end?

Curious about interactive storytelling and Karen? Blast Theory artist Matt Adams gives a insight into how the Karen app uses interactivity and responses to questions to craft the story and your experience with Karen. Laura, I thought you might find this of interest. Happy to answer as many or as little questions as I can for you about how she works. :-)

I've played along from beginning to end. I still don't know quite what to make of it. Some of it felt very real, some quite off the mark. She's often asked questions and then the multichoice felt it didn't fit anything I wanted to say back. I really don't want to play again as I don't know I want to revisit it (at least yet). I do have LOADS of questions though about how she works, what she deviates, how different the story and ending(s) might be or not, etc

I started my Karen experience today... She is brilliant!

Being the equal parts drama queen / tech geek that I am, she is the Life Coach I never knew I wanted. I think I'm pretty much addicted already, it feels a bit like I'm in a game about my life or that I'm in a weird relationship with her and I really want to see what happens in the end & find out what life choices we make together.

My next session is at 8am. Wish me luck!

There has been 3,554 downloads of Karen so far to date with 25+ reviews in the app store. She has popped up on Reddit with a great discussion about how Karen compares to Her (or not) and different psychological constructs --- introverison, extraversion, locus of control. And if you haven't already check out what people are saying on Twitter as they play along. Karenismylifecoach or Karenapp. This is the best part of making Karen --- seeing all your comments and reviews. Love her or hate her, Karen appears to be certainly getting under people's skin.

Can This Dysfunctional Life Coach Make You Care About Privacy Rights? I love the title of this article ... Fast Company writer Sophie Weiner digs into the design and intent of Karen. I'm starting to wonder myself ...

Karen is free to download from the iTunes store today. Download, interact and play with Karen and let us know your thoughts. Excited and slightly strange by the opening night through an app release moment ...

To introduce Karen to the NTW community, I've posted a blog post with some information about her. The most important piece of information is that she is available in the iTunes store next week: April 15, and to andoid users in May. You can find her by searching: Karen is my lifecoach. It is all very exciting as we count down the final days. You can also follow Karen on twitter: #karenismylifecoach ... I'm looking forward to sharing  about the behind the scenes learning and development that went into the making of Karen, and hearing all your thoughts as you play with Karen. :-)

Karen and lead artists Blast Theory have received a fantastic review by Frank Rose, in the New York Times, Karen and App the Knows You All Too Well. Frank is the author of the Art of Immersion (a great read if you are interested in how digital is impacting storytelling). He had access to a Beta version of Karen as we were testing her and he has really dug into Karen as an immersive experience you can access through your phone. You can also learn about more of Blast Theory's work in this article, work that helped to inform the development of Karen as a digital story.
