With real excitement (and admittedly some logistical trepidation) I met with the Ali, Borhan, Yusra, Kully and Humie this week to begin creating the NTW10.

My initial thoughts were how are we going to get 500-700 people in taxis going down Bute Street at the same time and how are the predominantly non-theater going public of Butetown going to embrace a less traditional Theater Piece which isn't going to fit what their concept of what Theater is.

I soon realised that I needed to be creative without 'What if's' and trust the experience belief of Kully and the others that the direction the show is taking is the right direction.

Not sure how much i can talk about what came out of our creative week, but I am now more excited than ever. This is going to be a huge opportunity for me personally and a big opportunity for the creative community of Butetown as well as the wider community.

Also glad that Anthony Brito has now been invited on to the writing team.

It was good to meet up with everyone in Manchester yesterday to talk about NTW10. Really looking forward to see what we will create for the Butetown show. Mad to think that at the beginning of the year I had never seen any kind of theatre and now I'll be involved in this production. I think we are going to produce that everyone involved, including the Butetown Community, can be proud of. Here are a few links that people may find interesting.

This is a short documentary that I made when I was in Uni.

This is a short cartoon made by Kyle Legall, hopefully he can get involved in the project is someway

This is a slideshow of some photos I have.

This another cartoon from Kyle.

A big thank you to Devinda & John for inviting us to the Institute last Friday. Four of us travelled up from Butetown and were intreagued but slightly sceptimistic about how much we could really get or relate to the show. 'A Good Nite Out' in the Valleys was such a refreshing surprise - quirky, hilarious, touching. Family and history and the strong community ties to something more than just bricks and motar was a notion that we all were familiar with. The evening was great! A full house, full of energy with star performances and it has left us all a-buzz with ideas and inspiration for the Soul Exchange. To all the Team - keep up the fantastic work and we look forward to the rest of the shows.
