Here’s an update as to where we are at if anyone out there is interested.

We are just kicking of a 3 week development period. Most of our team is now in place
Director Mladen Materic (from Tattoo Theatre in Toulouse)
Creative producer Tom Rack (one of the nofitstate founders)
Musical director Peter Reynolds (long standing nofitstate MD and musician)
Circus choreography Natalia Fandino (nofitstate performer and collaborator)
Rigging and structure design Tarn Aitken (resident nofitstate wizard)
Costume design Rhiannon Matthews (designer for ImMortal and tabú)
Lighting design Bruno Goubert (Tattoo Theatre)
Rigging Marco Fiera (nofitstate performer and rigger)

After a long time thinking about the casting and considering people from all over the world we came back to the principle that this show is about takeing the nofitstate style forward so decided it was essential to cast nearly all of the performers from the nofitstate family.
Natalia Fandino (tabú and ImMortal trapeze artist)
Vanina Fandino (tabú tightwire artist)
Adie Delaney (tabú swinging trapeze and hula hoops)
Gareth Jones (tabú musician and performer)
Marco Fiera (tabú and ImMortal rigger and performer)
Kevin McIntosh (ImMortal)
Anna Sandreuter (ImMortal)
George Orange (long standing nofitstate associate)
Miguel Munoz (DV8, company FZ)
We may increase the company before January if it’s appropriate and budgets allow.

During this initial 3 week investigative period we are looking at the many different themes that interest us and developing some new circus equipment, as well as exploring the movement vocabulary and performance language. We deliberately started this process with a lot of ideas but a clean page. We wanted it to be an inclusive process with all the artists contributing and the first few days have been very fruitful and there has been a great energy in the group.
By the end of the month we will enter into a building and training phase knowing what we are building and what we are training on and towards.
It’s going to be different, it’s going to be great already the journey is exciting and I believe we are going to discover something new, something meaningful, something beautiful and above all fun.

So pleased to hear James-your inspiration for working in circus was Baroque.I regret that they are not seen in UK any more....the loss of Salisbury Festival as regular host is immense.New show from them is Threepenny Opera...

Mathilde,
I owe you a trapeze class. I will write to you tomorrow.
Thank you!
