On web services that support tagging, if you want to refer to The Beach then please use its official tag which we have decided is ntw05.

Hence ntw05 can already be used on:

Flickr (photos)

YouTube, Vimeo, Blip.tv (videos)

Delicious (links)

Twitter (mini blog posts of text message length, tags are preceded by # symbol)

WordPress, Typepad, Blogger, etc (blogging services)

And of course this community website. I have tagged this discussion with ntw05, as you can see below.

Tagging will help your stuff to be found and associated with other people's stuff. You can still use additional tags like beach, thebeach, traeth (Welsh word), sand, seagull, whatever you think is useful to you and others.

Looking at the above list there is a huge gap in the market for a web service where you can upload smells. You could search for them and also send links to your friends. We could upload smells of the beach but the tagging convention would be no different, again we would use ntw05. This tag is future-proof!
