Mercury Theatre Wales are seeking a Stage Manager for their re mount of 35 TIMES.

 

35 TIMES is set at a womens aid coffee morning, the audience are seated around tables with actors and we hear their stories of how they survived domestic abuse. 

 

Dates 

1day w/c 20th of August - Rehearsal

w/c 28th August - Rehearsal (Cardiff)

w/c 3rd September - Rehearsal (Park and Dare) 

w/c 10th September - Touring (South Wales)

w/c 17th September - Touring (South Wales)

w/c 24th September - Touring (South Wales)

w/c 1st of October - Touring (South Wales)

 

Fee

£458 a week 

 

Duties will include running get in and outs (all venues are theatres with tech support), operating sound and LX during shows, driving a van with a small amount of set.

Leeway Productions are recruiting for a Company Stage Manager on the book and a Technical ASM for their autumn tour of The Last Five Years.

The Last Five Years is being created by Leeway Productions and is supported by Wales Millennium Centre and in partnership with Blackwood Miners. It will open as part of the Performances for the Curious season this Autumn at the Centre in the Weston Studio, before touring to venues across Wales.

The dates are rehearsals 1st October. Opens 9th November. Tours until 11th December in Wales with a week at WMC.  

CSM dates are 1st October to 14th December. 

Technical ASM dates are 29th October to 11th December.  

Holiday week 3rd to 9th December.

There is a cast for 4 actors and 6 musicians.

Payment will be equity minimum as well as per diems and accommodation on tour.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the CSM main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Attending rehearsals.
  • Compiling rehearsal reports and rehearsal calls.
  • Creating and monitoring the rehearsal schedule.
  • Maintaining the rehearsal room.
  • Assisting with propping
  • Pastoral welfare of the company.
  • Attending and assisting on the get-in at all tour venues.
  • To manage and work alongside the Technical ASM from the get in period.
  • Other relevant tasks as requested by the Director, Production Manager and the company.

The Technical ASM main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Attending rehearsals.
  • Assisting with prop setting and maintenance.
  • To assist with rigging and set fit up.
  • Attending and assisting on the get-in at all tour venues.
  • To run the floor during the show and execute cues as required.
  • To carry out wardrobe laundry and maintenance during performance weeks.
  • To work alongside the Stage Manager from the get in period.
  • Other relevant tasks as requested by the Production Manager, Director and the company.

Hi! (me again) 

I'm on the search for a Lighting Designer to work on Lovecraft (not the sex shop in Cardiff). The show is part of festival of the voice in June, rehearsal starts in May with tech w/c the 4th of June. Performances from the 5th of June - 16th. The performance space is ffresh restaurant at WMC, the tech is really minimal, so looking for someone to do some exciting stuff with not much kit. We are also going to Edinburgh and part of the contract would be to relight the show there (summerhall). Please do get in touch for further information glesni.price-jones@wmc.org.uk

Job Opportunity - Stage Manager Festival of Voice and Edinburgh 

LOVECRAFT (Not the Sex Shop in Cardiff) is a one-woman science comedy music show created by Carys Eleri in co-production with Wales Millennium Centre.

Carys Eleri is seeking a Stage Manager with technical knowhow to join her on her on a journey this summer.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not restricted to:

  • Being present and on the book during all rehearsals
  • Operating and programming qlab during rehearsals (Sound and animation)
  • Operating Sound, LX and Animation during performances
  • Assisting with rigging LX and Sound
  • Props sourcing
  • Maintaining any costume and props including doing laundry when necessary.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Understanding of the process of creating a one person show
  • Experience with programming qlab for sound and video
  • Experience of operating Sound, LX and Video
  • Strong scheduling and time keeping skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Desire to have fun

Desirable

Dirty Protest are seeking a Re-lighter/stage manager for the remount of Sugar Baby by Alan Harris. 

The re-lighter will need to be able to: 

- re-light a one-person show in the round 

- operate sound and lighting during performances 

- have good time keeping and problem-solving skills

- ability to give direction to the actor while on tour 

- work well independently

Taking Flight Theatre are recruiting for a Stage Manager for their Spring tour of You've Got Dragons.

Dates are 19th Feb – 13th May 2018 inclusive but it is likely that there will be an extension.

This is a technical show and tours a self contained lighting rig and uses captions which are run via Qlab.

SM must be a driver and aged 25+, have touring experience. There is a cast for 4 actors and an ASM also as part of the touring team.

Equity ITC contract. Payment will be just over equity minimum with relocation costs of required, as well as per diems and accommodation on tour

JOB OPPORTUNITY @ The Gate Arts Centre, Cardiff

Job title: Lighting Technician

Reporting to: Technical and Digital Coordinator

Work Duration: 18th November – 16th December

Pay: £7.50  an hour

Hours: Full time, most days finished by 3pm. Average 42.5 hours per week.

Location: The Gate Arts Centre, Keppoch Street, Cardiff

We are looking for a lighting technician to operate the lighting for our Christmas pantomime at the Gate.

Key responsibilities & duties

The lighting for the show will be basic but will need to be engineered to a professional standard consistently from show to show. You will also be responsible for other general technical tasks but your focus will be primarily on LX. Duties on show days will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that the lighting rig is fully functioning and correctly focussed every morning before the first show.

  • Maintenance and repair of the lighting design if any issues arise during the run.

  • Assistance with constructing the stage flats when necessary.

  • Operating the lighting in coordination with the sound engineer for all of the showings of Hansel and Gretel.

  • Resetting any staging, tech or props between and after shows.

  • Liaising with other members of events staff to coordinate requirements for evening events.

Essential requirements

  • Knowledge in operating and programming lighting desks (experience using an ETC Congo Jr or other ETC consoles is preferred) and lighting technology.

  • Experience of programming and operating professionally is not essential to allow people looking for experience of the role a chance to apply, however you must be capable of programming and operating to a functional and professional standard.

 

Desirable requirements

  • Experience working in theatre in a back stage role.

  • Experience operating lighting professionally

  • Studying or qualified from a technical theatre course.

  • A desire to contribute to and continue as part of The Gate Arts and Community Centre.
