I'm looking for creatives interested in a possible theatre project.
I am one half of JazzCakes, a relatively new art collective. At the moment we're looking to find empty spaces, shops, galleries etc to use to put on exhibitions and collections of new and interesting talent. We're looking into gathering a group of actors, set designers, writers etc to put on a piece of theatre, maybe with the possibility of touring through Cardiff using empty spaces.
Might sound a bit wooly at the moment, it's all quite new but if you have any questions or if you're interested please contact us!
If anyone's heading to the fringe and fancies a bit of musical comedy at its finest....
Exeter University Footlights are performing
I LOve You, You're Perfect, Now Change
at C-Venue's newest venue- CSoco on Chambers Street.
I'm not in it so not entirely biased- I honestly think its hilarious!
In mid rehearsals at the moment, my first performance @ The Soho Theatre (London)as part of an amazing season. If anyone's in London and fancies watching some cheap shows (£5-£10).
From 'Chasing Rainbows' with Hijinx now to the Edinburgh Festival! If anyone is going up to the festival this year come and see me in 'Luck Dip', it's a quirky little comedy written by Stuart Price of Stopped Clock Theatre Company. It's about an hour long and it's on everyday at 1.30pm at C venue 34, 5th-31st August. Hope to see you there, let me know if anyone else is performing there, support the Welsh!
'Faction Collective' - the same team that brought Patrick Jones' sell-out production "Revelation" return to Chapter this September with Anthony Neilson's critically acclaimed "The Censor"
"The Censor" premiered at the Finborough Theatre, London, in association with The Red Room in April 1997 and subsequently transferred to the Royal Court Theatre.
A gripping brief encounter between a pornographic artist and the man with the licensing scissors. A moving parable of the critic and artist as a healing and finally tragic love story.
'The play's extraordinary power comes, ironically, entirely from restraint...I've seen nothing finer this year' (Glasgow Herald).
'This is a profound and tragic vision of humanity at its bare, forked basics' (Evening Standard).
'As clever, and considerably less loaded than Oleanna and as topical as Popcorn. It is more unsettling than both, but in its own weird, urgent way almost beautiful' (Guardian).
Chapter Arts Centre: Wk commencing 14th September 2009.....please come and support us, we'd be most grateful - I'll be sending more info. and reminders closer to the performance dates - thanks so much!
