'FINDING HOME' - Paid opportunity

Mercury Theatre Wales are recruiting actors for the Chorus of their new play about Homelessness, 'Finding Home', which will be performed on 11th & 12th October at The Depot Cardiff.

Along with the 2 performance dates, the Chorus will be required for 4 further half-day rehearsals on 23rd September, 3rd October, 7th October and 10th October. Fee for each session and performances will be £52.50.

We would like to hear from people that have experienced barriers against their involvement in the Arts.

Mercury Theatre Wales are looking for a Stage Manager & a Lighting Designer for our ACW funded Homelessness project with two pilot performances of 'Finding Home' at The Depot Cardiff.

Overall dates: 20th September - 15th October 2021

Fees 4 x weeks @£500 p/w

Well it's looking like we're in for the long haul lockdown - we hope everyone's staying safe & well.
Like everyone else Mercury Theatre Wales are having to adapt our plans, so here's our news:-

We'd like to thank Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru / Arts Council of Wales for supporting our forthcoming Homelessness R&D project.
Despite the lockdown, our project will still be starting in May and we'd like to hear expressions of interest for the following roles:-
Actor 1 - Female 30s/40s
Actor 2 - Female 20s
Actor 3 - Male 40s/50s
Actor 4 - Male 20s/30s
Film-maker interested in experimenting with set projection.

We are particularly interested in hearing from actor/musicians with good vocal ability and a South Wales base.
Mercury Theatre Wales is committed to inclusive casting.
Initial meetings and sessions will be done by Zoom.

Come and join us for our next SYNERGIZE meeting, this Monday 30th September 5-7pm, Tesco's Community Room, Western Avenue.

Synergize is the habit of creative cooperation. It is teamwork, open-mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems. But it doesn't just happen on its own. It's a process, and through that process, people bring all their personal experience and expertise to the table.

This month's session will be led by actor & director Lynn Hunter and open to all actors, directors, writers and producers.

MERCURY THEATRE WALES have exciting news:-

With an aim to support freelance practitioners, create connections and share opportunities in Wales, we will be starting a new monthly group SYNERGIZE.

Whether you are a performer, writer, producer or director, you are welcome to our first meeting where we will explore how we wish to work together over the coming months and what we wish to achieve.


The meeting will be held on
MONDAY 25th MARCH 5pm - 7pm in the Community Room, Tesco Extra, Western Avenue, Cardiff CF14 3AT.


Refreshments will be provided and we will ask for a donation of £3 to cover costs.
