Shock n Awe Mission Statement

To create performance events which are able to:

• Break down barriers between music, dance, text and image.

• Explore form as well as content. To challenge and entice with the new and encourage access to the difficult.

• Work appropriately across a wide range of production scales and media whilst recognising our expertise producing on a large scale with large casts.

• See any space as a potential arena for performance.

• Be site specific when appropriate, taking the arts into spaces people already inhabit and use for other purposes

• Explore the notion of multi-platform production including documentary, television, film and Internet.

• Be internationalist and eclectic in their source material and inspiration.

• Extend the Welsh theatre repertoire by creating new work and new work from the old.

• Encourage a new generation of Welsh talent and with them a sense of community, generosity of spirit, and shared enterprise.

• Provide an arena for people of talent to develop their ideas and bring them to fruition.

• Represent Wales as a constantly transforming entity within the challenges of a global economy and environment therefore addressing and redefining Wales’s internationalist heritage for the modern era.

• Work with communities.

• Tour nationally and internationally
