Really looking forward to bang all our creative minds together!!! my e-mail is tegan@valleyskids.org
I have been thinking about massive and their methods of creating a connection on stage in order to avoid a dead space or feeling or moment, which really became apparent in their workshops. What other ways could we achieve this connection?
we have also pledged to meet up in a months time, how should we arrange this?
Hi If you are interested in supporting contemporary youth dance the event below is on today
Tickets £10 (£7 concessions)
Meet the Artist, See the Art
Blaze is an annual dance gala where National Dance Company Wales invites our Associates and other high quality youth dance groups - which this year includes Monmouthshire Youth Dance Company,Bridgend Youth Dance and County Youth Dance Company - to perform at the Dance House. It gives the dancers an experience of being in a professional dance environment, using world-class facilities, performing two shows in one day and bringing dancers from across the country together to celebrate their talent and commitment.
“ These young and talented dancers have worked hard and with great commitment. They are always a delight to watch”
Gareth Mole, Company Dancer
Yes great Jain I will email you mirand x
Aah thanks for that, I understand. Would love to see you too, have lots to tell you lets get together soon. jain.boon@ntlworld.com
No it was inititiated through Abdul as part of Massive Theatre's visit and they did a workshop first - but Sam and the Company visited us so that is how we got to know about the Saturday event - it was very much a start - a number of us (especially through our RCT youth arts strategic partnership have been trying to get ACW to bring us together (youth arts/youth theatre practitioners and young people) - but no luck so far - maybe this will happen now the strategy is out? Good on Abdul getting the ball rolling after a few months in post - really hope we can all put our heads together and create a more coherent national network for youth arts/theatre - with the demise of the companies it is so piecemeal currently - on a personal level would just love to see you xxxx
Hello Miranda, were you at the initial discussion? did it happen through Valleyskids?xx
P.S great to hear from you Jain - Miranda x
Check out the Arts Council of Wales young people and the arts strategy on their website called young creators - just a little observation there isn't a single visual image of young people creating theatre - with the exception of an international theatre company working with Iolo theatre with a musician in the centre of the image - could this be telling us something!!!!!!!!!
Hi Abdul, fantastic stuff, we have been having similar conversations up at Gwent Young People's Theatre about the future of our own youth theatre.
Hi guys great to meet you and get the ball rolling on a national debate about the future of youth arts - my email is Miranda@valleyskids.org please let me know of any developments
Miranda x
