POET CALL OUT - YOUNG POETS AGED 18-25!

WREXHAM SLAM HEAT – NTW TEAM with Voicebox, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ROUNDHOUSE LONDON.

One of the highlights of the Roundhouse calendar, the Poetry Slam is back. Now in its 14th year the slam offers young poets from across the UK the chance to compete for the coveted Slam Champion hosted in their main space plus a top prize of £500. This year we are excited to announce the very first heat in Wrexham, hosted in partnership between Roundhouse & National Theatre Wales TEAM with Voicebox.

There’s nothing quite like a Roundhouse Slam Final; an atmosphere of anticipation and encouragement against the backdrop of the legendary Roundhouse Main Space. Could you be one of our ten finalists this year? Judges include renowned poet Anthony Anaxagorou, and fresh from their sold-out international tour of hit show Burgerz, we welcome Travis Alabanza. More line up to be announced soon!

The Roundhouse will also hold heats in Hull in partnership with Hull Truck Theatre and they will return to Gloucester with Gloucester Culture Trust and Strike a light.  NTW TEAM is excited to be Roundhouse’s newest partner this year, scoping out all the incredible poetry talent in Wrexham!
