Profile Information

What I do:
Writer/Producer
A little more about me:
My name is Abbie Allen and I am a 23 year old Writer from Warwickshire that enjoys writing Thriller, Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Supernatural and Crime stories in either a script format or as novels. I also have Asperger Syndrome that helps me to be incredibly focused and organised, pick out the tiniest of details and see the world from a whole new perspective. I believe myself to be a self-motivated individual whom strives to make projects work off my own back instead of waiting for others to do the work for me. I would love to build upon my experience and become a Writer/Producer, but I feel that I need more experience in my field to be able to make that step up.

I studied BA Scriptwriting at the University of South Wales (USW) in Cardiff, graduating in 2017. Whilst at USW some of the modules I studied were in Script Editing, Script Reading and how to format TV, Film, Radio and Theatre scripts. I have been on other courses to develop my filmmaking skills, including “Foot In The Door: Film Skills” in 2017-18 which helped me make my first short film. I am a member of the Producers’ Forum based in Birmingham and I am also a member of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain. I have made two short films, both with a nomination at the Birmingham Film Festival two years consecutively, and I helped to make a feature film in the role of Production Assistant. In the future I’d like to be able to make as many films as I can along the themes of self-identity, self-confidence and empowering disabilities, no matter the genre. I hope that further into the future I can help other people with their ideas and develop their scripts to be the best version they can be.

My production credits include short film “Anything” (which was nominated for Best Short Film at the Birmingham Film Festival 2018), short film “Sensory Minefield” (that is about to start travelling the film festival circuit and was nominated for Best Micro Short at the Birmingham Film Festival 2019) and feature film “A Kidnap” (which is in Post-Production, with Abbie in the role of Production Manager).
Location:
West Midlands
Projects I’m working on:
Pre-Production:
ELECTRON (Short Film) - A lightning-powered recluse goes undercover in the Ravenhold Institute to find out the truth behind the prisoners’ losing their powers, only for her own to be put at risk.

Hello, I'm Abbie

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Abbie Allen. I'm from Warwickshire and I'm currently studying my final year of BA Scriptwriting at the University of South Wales. I am a writer of many mediums and I try to convey a meaning in what I write, but sometimes I get so lost in the world of the idea I forget that. I have a tendency of juggling various and numerous ideas around all at once. I started writing novels when I was fourteen years old as an escape from school life. I showed it to a…
