A little more about me:

I am an award winning director and dramaturg based in Sydney Australia though a New Zealander by birth. I specialises in new plays and the development on innovative performance.

From 2011 to 2017 I was Associate Director – New Work at Belvoir. For Belvoir I directed HIR (Taylor Mac) winner four Sydney Theatre Awards including BEST DIRECTOR and BEST PRODUCTION, KILL THE MESSENGER (Nakkiah Lui) FORGET ME NOT (Tom Holloway), CINDERELLA and OLD MAN (Matthew Whittet). I also restructured the company's literary department which led the the company doubling the number of new works programmed.

I wrote and directed MOTHER'S RUIN: A CABARET ABOUT GIN which has toured Australia and the United Kingdom for the last two years. In 2018 I directed SINCE ALI DIED (Omar Musa) which will appear at the Sydney Festival in 2019.

From 2007 to 2011 I was Associate Director bushfutures at London’s Bush Theatre, where my directing credits include TWO CIGARETTES, 50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER, TURF, suddenlossofdignity.com, and the musical THE GREAT BRITISH COUNTRY FETE.  My work toured Britain extensively during this time. 

My other directing credits include THE HUMANS (Mophead and Red Line at the Old Fitz) FLIGHT PATHS (National Theatre of Parramatta), THE COLBY SISTERS OF PITTSBURGH PENNSYLVANIA (NIDA) #KillAllMen (NIDA), THE REAL YOU (SmackBang), and QUIET (Fontanel – 45 Downstairs).

Prior to working at the Bush Theatre, I was the Co-Artistic Director of SmackBang Theatre Company and the producer of Massive Company, both in Auckland, New Zealand. 

I trained at the Victorian College of the Arts (Directing) and the University of New South Wales. 

I am currently working in development at Causeway Films and Screen Australia. I am a Churchill Fellowship recipient for 2018. My next play will be WUBYANBOGA YURRINGA by Andrea James at Belvoir.
