Life.

Hello all.  Sorry not to have posted for so long but I've been on a secret government assignment in the former soviet union and I got caught, imprisoned and tortured.  I escaped by covering my body in rat urine, attaching feathers from my duck down matress and convincing them I was a chicken.  They sure are dumb these commies (ex commies).  Anyway, working on a thing with the NTW, coming along!  Also I have a CD - 'Labourer of Love' - coming out in time for christmas.  Its a lovely poiece of…

Hi There

I was thinking about tiny people in the world of the huge, I think its symbolic, and I remembered reading Gulliver's Travels as a child.  I must have read it half a dozen times.  The little giant girl who captured Lem and put him in her doll's house in Brobdidnag was named Glumdalclitch!  How com little girls don't get named that today.  I think its lovely.  Glumdalclitch Clack!  What a great programme for next year.  The interconnection with the community carries on at a pace.  Thiis was high… Continue

Passion

My Mrs, Kirsten Jones, and I saw the opening of Passion on the beach in Port Talbot on Friday afternoon.  What a fantastic experience.  We loved it.  To have got such a large scale production together with of necessity no practical dress runs, well ... what can you say!?  The set up with the town's hierarchy meeting the dark ones was ace, then the bomber, the appearance of christ, the sun beating down, the all round excellence of the acting, it was wonderful.  Michael Sheen is not just a film… Continue

Dark philosophers

Hello. I went to see Dark P on the press night. What a cracking show. The set was breathtaking, the acting top drawer and the script and direction enthralling and relevent. I was overwhelmed with piquant nostalgia at one point. It has to be said that the National Theatre is doing us proud, innovative without being pretentious, intelligent yet populist and rooted firmly in our soil.
