Profile Information

What I do:
Creative Producer for Coreo Cymru
A little more about me:
I've spent my whole life in dance, as a performer, choreographer and later as the Artistic Co-ordinator of Welsh Independent Dance where I delivered numerous projects and programmes supporting the Welsh dance sector and beyond.

After completing my formal training at The Laban Centre of Movement and Dance, London, I returned to my hometown Cardiff to work as a freelance dance artist for more than a decade. I worked on many diverse projects ranging from small-scale experimental dance to large-scale operas and have had the privilege of working with numerous internationally acclaimed artists.

In December 2011, I was appointed the Creative Producer for Dance in Wales and launched Coreo Cymru in partnership with Chapter. The programme was set up to encourage and manage the creation and production of new dance activity, and to support the development of Wales based artists and companies.

Coreo works in partnership with many other organisations including international partnerships to deliver a compelling and unique programme that supports a diverse range of dance products aimed at encouraging new audiences to dance by offering new and dynamic forms of presentation.

Carole has had the pleasure of working with NTW on a number of R&D projects supporting artists and hopes to continue this fruitful relationship.
Location:
Cardiff
Projects I’m working on:
I've just finished the international touring project Dance Roads, funded through the EU Culture programme and am heading towards a very busy summer of projects which include - (In)visible dancing with Protein Dance in June, Blysh dance with choreographer Javier de Frutos and musical collaborator Cian Ciaran (Supper Furry Animals) in July, The Dance Dome tour across Wales from July to October and a new pilot project at Edinburgh Fringe entitled the Welsh Dance Strand. I'm also leading on British Dance Edition, the UK's primary showcase for dance which will be hosted for the first time in Wales in Cardiff and Newport in March 2016.
