Hi Charlotte I am Guy an Arts officer in Bridgend , thought you might be interested in the project below
Thanks
Guy

Are you aged 16 – 25? Could you create a must-read review of theatre or music? Co-ordinated by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts and Community Development, the Young Critics’ Scheme aims to develop and showcase the critical voices of young people and encourage them to think critically about the theatrical or musical productions they have seen.

Organised in partnership with the National Theatre of Wales and Academi, one of the National Theatre Wales’ new critics and ex-editor of Buzz magazine, Ben Bryant, will mentor and run workshop sessions to encourage participants to write and explore the role of the art critic, coming up with different ways to respond to theatre and live art including using Face Book, Vimeo and Twitter.

Throughout the coming months, the young critics will be encouraged to write a number of theatrical and musical reviews, beginning with a review of the National Theatre’s Wales production of ‘Love Steals us from Loneliness’ by Gary Owen, which will be performed in Hobos, Bridgend in October.

To get involved in this exciting new project, please call Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts Project officer Guy O’Donnell, on (01656) 642727, or email: arts@bridgend.gov.uk.

Hiya - thanks for your info! At the moment we are keeping your details for the internship programme we are starting. It looks like there will be opportunities from the end of July. Some of these are the essential office things like data-entry; some are involved in planning events like Sandpit. Will keep you posted! x

Hi Charlotte, thanks for your detailed reply, that's great - really useful for me to think about when deciding what is the best thing to offer interns. We are thinking about developing an Intern programme that can give people varying experiences within the office, including administration support, as well as helping the creative team research, plan and deliver the various projects we have going on. We are also looking into what level we should be pitching this job at - school-leavers, graduate students, anyone who wants further experience working in a theatre company...renumeration would probably be at a set level to cover daily expenses (travel, lunch)... If you are interested in any of this, or have any thoughts, do let me know and we can put you in the mix! Thanks so much x

Hi Charlotte, welcome to National Theatre Wales! Great to hear what you have been up to and what your plans are. I was wondering what you were after with regards to work experience? We were thinking of starting up something here in the offices of NTW, it would be great to hear what you look for in regards to work experience; what do you want to get out of it, what renumeration do you expect etc.... x
