What I do:
We train aspiring actors and directors. We hold a variety of courses, workshops and stand-alone classes for all levels and experiences.
A little more about me:
Gest Train was set up in 2004 by Claire Purvis, a local acting tutor, to provide accessible, inclusive, high quality actor training to adults in South Wales. Many people have enrolled on our courses since then, often sticking around for two, three, four or more courses.

We offer training for every level of experience - from complete beginners looking to dip their toes in or build up confidence, to professionals who want to add to their skill base or have a practical outlet for their craft. We schedule our courses and workshops mainly for evenings and weekends to fit, as much as possible, around people's work commitments. A supportive, friendly and ‘non-cliquey’ atmosphere is also a fundamental part of our ethos.

Specialist tutors are brought in for specific skills such as voice, movement and singing and since Martin Houghton, a director and acting tutor of over thirty years experience has joined us, we now also offer courses aimed towards directors.
Location:
Cardiff
Projects I’m working on:
Brand new courses for February - July 2012, including weekly acting courses on Saturdays and Sundays, a theatre directing course and a Drama School Audition weekend workshop.
