A little more about me:

I'm a qualified science teacher with 4years teaching experience at Ysgol Friars in Bangor. I grew up in North Wales and have travelled extensively. After leaving Ysgol Aberconwy at 18 I volunteered as a teacher in Uganda. After graduating from The University of Sheffield with a Biology BSc.(Hons.) degree, I travelled around South America and conducted fieldwork in the rainforests of Malaysia, surfed in Morocco and travelled comprehensively in Europe. Before qualifying with a PGCE at Bangor University I worked as a Fundraising Assistant for a leading cancer charity. More recently, I've spent time teaching at a Primary School in Spain and have led two groups of young people on month-long expeditions to Tanzania and Bolivia and Peru.
Young people and the way they learn fascinate me. However, I'm frustrated by the number of
children living in the Bangor area who are demotivated and uninspired by the place that they are growing up in. I'm now dedicating my free time to setting up a Youth Café/Dry Pub that will also act as a gateway for children to access a variety of activities and develop talents that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to explore.
