- Eve lives in North Wales. She grew up in Caernarfon, and moved to Cardiff to study English Literature, where she honed her creative writing. After her degree Eve left the city to live in a cabin on a Cornish farm, where she wrote and recorded her first EP. Through her debut EP, Low Sun, and in her recent writing, Eve explores the dynamics of finding her voice as a woman, in a world that is getting louder. Against the noise, her music offers the harmony of quiet strength and a powerful vulnerability. Eve finds her words and meaning in nature; her favourite songs are written outside.
Eve has returned to North Wales, and in the summer of 2018 she was awarded a month-long artist residency in a ‘creative caravan’ in the town centre of Caernarfon. Eve spent a month collecting stories from the local people who popped in to see her, turning them into folk songs. Out of this experience was born her second EP, a bilingual collection: Straeon i Ganeuon. This was self-penned, produced and released in under a month.
After a busy summer of recording, performing and sharing her music, including gigs for pilgrims along the Camino trail in Spain, at Interceltique festival in Brittany and at Yr Eisteddfod in Cardiff, Eve has retreated back to the comfort of the small spaces. It is in these spaces that her heart opens, and the music flows; she is currently renting a wooden cabin to work from. Here she is writing songs for her first album, transmuting the traumatic experience of losing her father to suicide in 2017. Eve is panning for gold, and finding light within the dark. The emblem of a low sun, the title of her first EP, remains resonant in her life, and she is visualising these songs as a golden light within the darkness of what has happened.
