Director and theatremaker. Most interested in politically conscious, community-focused and site-specific/geographically grounded work, and in collaboration and the process of creation.
A little more about me:
After reading Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Warwick, graduating in 2011, I moved to the Northeast of England where I directed and made work for a number of theatre companies, including my own. I am currently receiving Arts and Humanities Research Council funding to undertake an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I am using the course to explore alternative modes of audience interaction; site-specific theatre; and non-traditional methods of collaboration.
Location:
London
Projects I’m working on:
I am currently in the process of forming 'Place and Means' with my fellow MA student Laura Remmler. The company's focus is on walking, story-telling and audience interaction in the city. Our first piece, 'Good Riddance', is a performative walking urban guided tour featuring a treasure-hunt-within-a-play! The piece has already been performed in Jerusalem and London, and is heading to Newcastle-upon-Tyne in early August.
Hi Gwilym, thanks for befriending me :) you can submit a script to National Theatre Wales by emailing it to submissions@nationaltheatrewales.org
The company does not offer a script reading service, as such, but would like to read an example of your work to get to know you as a writer. Definitely send something in! x
