Re: Can't Stand Up For Falling Down - York Theatre Royal

Hello guys and gals.  Apologies for the humongous radio silence.  Just a very quick plug to say that Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down has one week left of its run in the Studio at York Theatre Royal (‘til 16th November).  Please pop along if you’re Yorkshire bound during that time.…

A little salute for Drury Lane

This idea is, undoubtedly, not unique to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, but it deserves applauding nevertheless.

So, we've been down in London holding auditions.  As you do, when you're in the Big Smoke, thought I'd catch a show.  Managed to wangle a disabled and escort seat for Charlie and the Chocolate…

Hi John,

Thank-you for joining the TEAM group and welcome!

We have lots of opportunities for TEAM members to get involved in different aspects of NTW including productions and the office. There are also lots of events run by TEAM members for TEAM members, which are advertised on the group. I have read your blogs about what you are working on at the moment and I look forward to finding out how Can't Stand For Falling Down develops, it looks like a really interesting piece of work. If you would like to find out more about TEAM or how to get involved please feel free to either contact me via the community or by e-mailing annapoole@nationaltheatrewales.org.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anna

Hi John,

I saw a few NTW messages from you pop into my inbox yesterday, and was intrigued enough to read a little more about Can't Stand Up For Falling Down. I enjoyed reading your poetic description of the rivers and quarries, and the symbolism in relation to the play . I'm a designer, so place and how it impacts on story are always the first things I consider. I used to live in York, and in fact my first professional job was at the Theatre Royal, assistant designing on Wuthering Heights. I'm interested in connecting with directors working regionally (I live in London now, which, although a fantastic hotbed of exciting projects, can also be constraining in its own way), so if you fancy a chat sometime then let me know.

Best wishes,

Alison
