Profile Information

What I do:
Currently employed part time as a training seamstress, the rest of my time dedicated to as much work experience and volunteering as I can find.
A little more about me:
I am 23 and have many interests, predominantly creative. I am currently working part time in order that I might have more time to pursue my ambitions, for which I want more work experience of varying natures, in different fields.
I speak English, Welsh and Spanish and am keen to explore as many outlets as possible for my talents and abilities.
Location:
Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire
Projects I’m working on:
*As a member of the umberella organisation Haverfordwest Improvement Project,I can be involved in several projects at one time. For example, some Seasonal events are; The Dragon Walks, a Saint David's day celebration where school children parade giant welsh dragons they've made around the town centre, H/West Beer and Cider Festival, where we offer local brewers space and generally sell out; and Horrorfordwest, a childrens Halloween event, soon to become an umberella title event itself. The Ghost Walks are a very popular event for which I am responsible for the coordination and some if the costumes, where a historian takes an audience on a journey through Haverfordwest's murky history, visiting some former residents..
*Some unrelated projects are the Lantern Parade, one of six projects run by Space to Create as part of the Taking Part West initiative; Transition Haverfordwest run several projects, I help with the Supper Club where a community centre is turned into a restaurant for the evening and only immediately local produce is served.
*As a member of Haverfordwest Operatic Society I help backstage, with props, costumes and the sets.
*During the summer months, I teach surfing on some nearby beaches, and help with the Kids Club activities.
*I am available to a local theatre in a creative capacity, most recenly sewing a large piece for their outdoor performnaces.
*I am currently enrolled on several courses which I hope to be able to apply to new projects eg; Pattern Cutting, Upholstrey Classes, and a Tefl Course.
These are an example of my current involvements etc, amongst other smaller events and projects.

Hi Lauren,

Welcome to the Community! It's great to see you here.

Have a look around and get stuck in. A good place to start is by joining a group. I recommend checking out the Creatives Group (which is looked after by Matt Ball, Creative Associate) or the Technical Group (which is looked after by David Evans, Head of Production). You may also be interested in the National Theatre Wales TEAM Group, where Devinda De Silva posts information and opportunities to get involved with National Theatre Wales projects.

You can also Write a Blog Post to update the Community, or start a debate, or see what's on and add your own events in the What's On section

As usual it's best to just dive in, but if you have any questions do give me a shout.

Jen
