I've done freelance photography for 10 years now, more in the last couple of years since I started making a full time business out of it. I'm lucky enough that my favourite hobby has also become my job - and I still love it.
I specialise in PR & press photos, events, editorial images and portraits but also do fashion, weddings and many other things. Doing such a range of work I try to be able to produce images in numerous styles - I believe it's important to deliver images tailored to the purpose for which they'll be used, e.g. true-to-life reportage for coverage of a business event, or something a little more creative and unique for a celebrity portrait.
Photography gives me a chance to indulge my natural curiosity about the world. I want to know how everything works and see it all from the inside, take it apart and then ask questions about it. I read science and technology books for fun and I've got a PhD in maths which is a pretty solid basis for being nosey!
I love music, listening to it and making it when I get a chance (not often enough). I like loads of stuff but hate much more. Currently I'm listening to a lot of Tool, The Faint, Millionaires, Leonard Cohen, Bloodshed, AFX, Eric Satie and a bunch of other stuff.
I'm also trying to learn more about cinematography and video, I like programming and I'm getting back into mountain biking in a big way.
