Profile Information

What I do:
I am the executive artistic director of a not for profit community theatre company
A little more about me:
I grew up in North East Wales from the age of 14 to 19. During this time Clwyd Youth Theatre ignited a lifelong passion for theatre and performing of all types. 35 years later and post-pandemic I have returned and set up a community theater company called Grass Under Foot. It's my new baby and my working life is spent nurturing it. Grass Under Foot is a not-for-profit company dedicated to bringing theatre directly into communities using nontheatre spaces. I was a street entertainer and actor for many decades and I'm also passionate about using street theatre to tell local stories. We also aim to be zero waste in 5 years' time. I moved down from London, my home for over 35 years. You could say that I'm a reverse Dick Wittington.
Projects I’m working on:
Last year with the help and support of Arts Wales and Theatr Clwyd we completed a research and development project to create an outside theatre show based on a local Flintshire ghost story and legend called Deborah's Well. I am now applying for funding for phase two of this project that will see the show debut in front of an audience at Baily Hill, Mold, and Wepre Park, Ewloe in September of this year.
