Profile Information

What I do:
Firstly what a terrible photo! (And that was the best one)I'm a teacher in Newport and interested in writing for the theatre which I have zero experience of! I do write sketches for two review shows, Newsrevue in London and The Treason Show in Brighton. I've also written for The British Comedy Guide website. Though this is great fun to write for and watch your stuff being performed it feels a bit like being a one trick pony so hopefully someone on here can point me in the direction of getting my first play (what I wrote) at least read by somebody who can decide whether it's any good any bad or just plain ugly.A bit about me. I like music and play the trumpet (but not so much anymore) I said it was a bit.
A little more about me:
.
Location:
Cwmcarn
Projects I’m working on:
I have recently finished a script writing course in Bridgend tutored by Carmen Medway-Stevens. Last year I got to the last twelve of the 'It's My Shout' short film competition.
I have also written a radio play performed by Ad Hoc theatre company which has been broadcast by Radio Glamorgan and is due to be broadcast and featured as a podcast on GTFM community radio station in April. I'm currently working on a play based on my experiences as a primary school teacher in an area of high social deprivation. I am fortunate that Kath Chandler has taken an interest in this project and has been instrumental in it's development.

Tea at Five-New radio play

Tea at Five is my new bitter-sweet radio play about two teenagers who are forced to live with their grandparents. Here is a link to the pre-broadcast publicity. Hope it wets you're appetite!

Hi Ross! Great to see you on here, and really excited to see that you are already an active participant in the writers' group! I hope that people on there can answer your questions about play development but please do keep checking back on here. We are in the middle of drawing up our writers' policy and so will be letting everyone know what this will be soon, once we have finished consulting everyone and finished our planning! Good luck!

PS Have you seen the Sandpit Event on the Events page? It may be an interesting way of accessing alternative forms of writing...x
