What I do:

A little more about me:
I create performances, theatrical experiences and events which aim to entertain, question and confuse in equal measure, ranging from street theatre and interactive happenings to pervasive games and full scale productions.

My work is focused on exploring ways to engage and activate interaction with time, place, history and people, blurring the boundaries between thoughtful, calculated precision, and joyful chaos.

Approaching audiences with curiosity and playfulness is central to my practice, which in turn engenders agency, trust and mutual support between participants.

The Situationists and Henri Lefebvre's Rhythmanalysis are important touchstones to the development of my reflective, community-facing practice.

I work as a freelance practitioner, collaborator, and as co-director of ShellShock Theatre Co, UK.

Performing Britain Live Art Festival, Live Art Bistro (Leeds, UK) Funded by Arts Council England

Designed and performing a 24 hour performance inviting EU member state citizens to openly discuss notions of post-Brexit British Identity post-EU referendum, engaging the public discussion on identity, EU regional cohesion.

A durational participatory intervention in to urban space: a derive inspired walk, where participants attempt to cross the city by only permitting grass, moss or other flora to pass underfoot.
Taking a cue from Italo Calvino's novel Mr. Palomar, Infinite Lawn is a serela, playful exploration of the questions the novel raises around the symbolism and perceived homogeneity of the well manicured lawn, and the use of managed horticulture as public and private status symbols and boundaries.

February's playARK After Dark is ready to rock...

I've been working with PlayARK on there gaming meet ups at the WMC; there'll be interactive game play, werewolfs and a situationist inspired, culture-jamming game of follow-the-leader on the 25th of Feb. It would be great to see some of you there, there's a bit more info on the event below,

On 4 September we have a visiting artist coming to do a presentation and have a chat with us all at national theatre wales. She is going to be coming to the Sandpit the night before so we would like to give you guys, who are making games for the Sandpit, the chance to also meet and talk to her with us. She is called Naomi Alderman and is a writer. She is interested in sharing her way of working and in learning others' processes, possibly so she can bring 'pervasiveness' into her work. It would be great if you could make it. The talk will be for 2 hours from 11.30am - 1.30pm.

I will forward your info on to Rosie at Hide and Seek - I'm sure setting up 2 'storyboards' will be okay but we don't know yet if the Sandpit will be in Cardiff, it depends on who wants to deliver games at it! Developing a new game for September means that you would have to meet with us at NTW and Alex or Holly from Hide and Seek to start developing the game. Alex and Holly are giving us a total of 3 days between them to help with development, dates TBC. Of course, since Sandpit is to try out games, it may be that we actually need little more than a 'scratch' of an idea. I will see what Rosie says! x

Great you want to run your Swansea project at Sandpit, thats fine, but do you also fancy devising a new game for it in conjunction with Hide and Seek? We are looking for some Welsh artists to devise a brand new game with Hide and Seek which could become a full production in National Theatre Wales' first production year. Let me know if you're interested in this too x
