Profile Information

What I do:
We are an integrated theatre company based in Cardiff. Founded in 2008 by Artistic Director Elise Davison and Executive Director Beth House. TFTC creates inclusive, accessible productions featuring physically disabled, sensory impaired, D/deaf and non disabled professional actors. In addition the outreach programme works with various charities and organisation running workshops and residencies. Through our work, we aim to change perceptions of disabled people in The Arts, creating work that challenges preconceptions and breaks down barriers.
A little more about me:
Working towards a theatre that doesn't need to use the word inclusive any more. A truly accessible, immersive and inclusive experience. Where access is the starting point for creativity not just an add on. A theatre where casting is relevant to talent not the way you look or the way you may be perceived in society. A theatre which is working towards changing perceptions and attitude. A theatre for the people!
Projects I’m working on:
The Winter's Tale - National outdoor promenade theatre tour 2015.

Real Human Being - WAG funded tour of Forum theatre piece about disability Hate Crime written by Matthew Bulgo touring until 2016

You and Me ( working title ) a piece of multi - sensory, immersive theatre for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their siblings. Production planned for 2016

Working towards a truly inclusive theatre in Wales

I am looking to cast two deaf/hard of hearing actors, one male one female age 20-40 for a short 2 minute film which is part of the Create50 The Impact initiative.  The story is about a deaf couple, and how they spend their final moments at the end of the world.

The couple communicate via sign language, which will be subtitled.

Anyone interested please get in touch.  jayeswift@zoho.com
