For anyone interested in learning more about theatre and the arts in criminal justice there's a meeting this Thursday 31st March at 3 pm at the British Council Offices in Cardiff of the newly formed Prison Arts Network Cymru.
The aim of this gathering is to form a supportive network for artists working across Wales in prison and probation settings and to do what we can to support those who want to carry on a creative practice beyond prison.
If you'd like to know more send me…Continue

Seventy years on since the US dropped atomic bombs on the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and my friend Kyoko, who is from Hiroshima but now lives in Cwmtwrch, has begun to share her experience of what it was like for her family and community to live in the aftermath. Yesterday was our last Wales Lab day and Joanna, Ollie and I were joined by Alan Harris. It was really useful to have a fresh pair of eyes view the material created so far and chat about ways forward. Big thanks to Wales Lab and all the collaborators who have been involved in developing the work. It's been a treat to explore how this project might work and take time to figure out the best way to turn an inital idea into exciting theatre. The plan now is to work with Alan on developing the…Continue

That's fantastic you're making a show with the mighty Anna and in Barry! Just looked at your website. Sorry I missed it as my greek welsh family were stalwarts of Bindles.

We met a few years back when we were both doing prison theatre. I remember you talked about wanting to set up an ex-offenders theatre group in Cardiff. Wondered if that idea came to anything..? I've just been working with veterans on Abandoned Brothers, and one guy is a natural actor, who got into drama when he was in prison. He would love to do more stuff...
I noticed the Barry Bus project you ran with wales lab and wondered if you would be able to help me with some Barry knowledge.I am one of the organisers for an open-mic event called Word4Word which is predominantly spoken word and poetry but often, and is encouraged, has variations such as monologues, songs, fiction etc.. WELL NTW TEAM are planning to take the event along to Barry as part of the summer mini festival and was in need of some contacts around the area to help me locate people who would be interested? So was wondering if you knew any already existing poetry nights OR anyone you feel would be interested in the event such as writing groups or college lecture's, well anything you could think of really.
I look forward to hearing from you :)
Good luck with The Pillowman, its such a wonderful play. I will try and get up to see the rehearsed reading in September, but I may be in Morocco...
Thanks again for thinking of me and getting in touch,
I'm so sorry about the late reply, I have been in the South of France. This sounds very interesting, I love The Pillowman; Martin McDonagh is a favourite of mine.
I'm rehearsing for a film from the 23rd - 26th in London so unfortunately it looks as though it may clash?
I'm very intrigued to know more...
great to meet you in cyberspace now too :)
will have a look around the site!
