<p>I've been a bad blogger over on my WordPress site, but I'm endeavouring to reverse the trend and thought I'd start with a wonderful talk, performance and workshop I attended in London at the beginning of March. After I wrote it I thought I'd also share it here!</p>

<p>Dementia is something of a 'hot topic' at the moment and in the absence of a cure, many people are looking to the arts for ways in which we can enrich the lives of people living with the disease to improve their day to…</p>
<p>I've been a bad blogger over on my WordPress site, but I'm endeavouring to reverse the trend and thought I'd start with a wonderful talk, performance and workshop I attended in London at the beginning of March. After I wrote it I thought I'd also share it here!</p>

<p>Dementia is something of a 'hot topic' at the moment and in the absence of a cure, many people are looking to the arts for ways in which we can enrich the lives of people living with the disease to improve their day to day lives.</p>

<p>It's one area that I think that immersive theatres can help with: the senses offer a mode of non-verbal communication and can offer different entry points for people, depending on what smells, tastes, textures, sounds and objects they might like.</p>
<p></p>
<p>It was with these thoughts in mind that I set off to London to find out about Spare Tyre's recent work, <em>The Garden</em>, which confirmed much of my thinking in this area. Wales has some fantastic people who are already working through the senses and this is something I think worthy of further exploration. </p>
