Cynhyrchiad : Drudwen

Mae "Drudwen” wedi'i selio ar chwedl fodern dywyll sy’n ymdrin â themâu o drawsnewid, o ddewisiadau a chanlyniadau. Dyma stori sy’n tynnu ysbrydoliaeth o lên gwerin, hud a lledrith am frawd a chwaer amddifad sy’n cael eu hachub gan y ddewines, Drudwen. Mae’r sgript wedi'i wreiddio'n ddwfn mewn syrcas gyfoes a theatr gorfforol, gydag elfen grêf o ddigrifwch tywyll. Mae’r sgript yn gwneud defnydd o’r Gymraeg a’r Saesneg.

Dramodydd; Kate Driver Jones. Cyfarwyddwr; Gwen Scott. Cyfarwyddwr Cyswllt; Siwan Llynor

Rôl: Olga

“Daw Drudwen, y ddewines o hyd i Olga a'i hefaill Ogi yn fabanod yn y goedwig. Mae hi'n mabwysiadu’r ddau ac yn eu magu’n ofalus a’u caru ond maent yn tyfu i fod yn farus a sadistaidd, yn anghenfilaidd bron. Mae Olga yn rheoli ei brawd gwan ac yn ddirmygus ohono ond eto'n ei angen. Mae hi’n hyll ond eto yn goeglyd a’i chwant am bŵer yn ei harwain i wneud penderfyniadau dinistriol sy'n ei gadael yn unig a bregus.”

Rydym yn chwilio am berfformiwr proffesiynol sydd â phrofiad blaenorol o ddyfeisio fel rhan o ensemble.

Sgiliau angenrheidiol

Dealltwriaeth o theatr gorfforol a pharodrwydd i ddefnyddio'r corff i helpu i adrodd straeon.

Y gallu i weithio fel rhan o ensemble

Profiad o ddyfeisio - gallu rhannu syniadau creadigol ac archwilio gyda chwilfrydedd.

Y gallu i gysylltu â chynulleidfa mewn ffordd ddilys

Parodrwydd i ymuno â'r tîm a chefnogi ei ethos cadarnhaol, chwareus, a chynorthwyo i osod a chadw set / a llwytho fan.

Siaradwr Cymraeg rhugl

Profiad actio gyda'r gallu i gyflwyno llinellau yn y Gymraeg a'r Saesneg gyda thafodiaith Gogledd Cymru

CASTING CALL - Performer for the role of OLGA

Company: Cimera

Cimera are a Contemporary Circus and Arts Company. We work to create original performance pieces, explore possibilities and make connections between artists and communities to create a unique artistic voice for North Wales. Founded in January 2013 by a group of professional freelance and community artists and performers, we are an organisation dedicated to creating and developing vibrant participatory arts at the heart of the community, and producing high quality work.

Production: Drudwen

“Drudwen” is a dark modern fairytale drawing on themes of transformation, choice and consequences. Taking as its starting point abandoned twins discovered in the forest by an enchantress, it draws inspiration from universal folklore and myth. Its themes resonate with people of all ages and cultures. The script uses both Welsh and English and is heavily rooted in the genres of contemporary circus and physical theatre, with a strong sense of dark humour.

Written by Kate Driver Jones. Directed by Gwen Scott. Associate Director Siwan Llynor

Role: Olga

“Olga and her brother Ogi are twin baby Ogres who are found abandoned in the forest by an enchantress, Drudwen. She adopts and loves them but they grow to become greedy, sadistic and insatiable. Olga is controlling and warped and though she despises her weaker brother she also needs him. She is ugly but vain. Her desire for power leads her to make disastrous decisions which ultimately leave her alone and unstable.”

We are looking for a professional performer who has previous experience of devising as part of an ensemble.

Necessary skills

An understanding of physical theatre and a willingness to use the body to help tell stories.

Ability to work as part of an ensemble

Devising experience - able to share creative ideas and explore with curiosity and playfulness

Ability to authentically connect with an audience.

Willingness to join the team and support its positive, playful ethos, and assist with get ins/get outs and van loading.

Fluent Welsh speaker

Acting experience with the ability to deliver lines in Welsh and English with a North Wales accent

Preferred skills

Experience of circus, dance or physical theatre

Any musicality and singing ability (please mention this when applying)

Based in North Wales

This role may include working at height

Although this is a physical circus/theatre production this role will be devised to suit the ability and skills of the performer. As such a willingness to explore your personal physicality is more important than any particular skill level or physical ability.
