The workshop is voluntary however could lead to other opportunities in the future. It is between 10am and 4pm (with lunch between 1-2pm) at the Coal Exchange, Cardiff Bay. One week ago I was sat in an old school, which had been built by the Elan Valley damn builders for their children. It was on top of a little hill in the valley.
According to Maeve , it was haunted by a local farmer's wife that had an affair with one of the damn builders.
But the most haunting thing for …

Wednesday 15th myself, Matt Ball, Simon and Laura took a trip up the Anglesey to begin to make links with people on the Island in readiness for NTW's month long residency during June. Getting there was an experience, we found it was cheaper to fly than to travel on the train, so we jumped onto a 19 seater plane which was a lot more pleasant than it sounds. As I am responsible for the Anglesey Assembly I was keen to meet both people from the creative community and active community members to…

Back in Jan and during the NTW Yr 3 launch, I was taken by the completely mystifying mention of a DIY Festival as part of the company’s residency in Anglesey.
Since then I have joined the team as Creative Associate and as mentioned in my last blog i’m going to be working out (with you and your help) what the DIY Festival is going to be...I have loads of images in my head of cardboard boxes, gaffa tape, blackboards and megaphones, but how it will actually turn out depends on who…

My second trip to Anglesey turned up this gem:
I'm a bit of a sucker for franchises like Monopoly (yes, I have the Sheffield version, my own hometown) - even though I know some big corporation is making money from my new penchant for the Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Môn, as I now know it), buying it was a heartening experience. I…

Hello everyone
This is my first foray in to the NTW Community since joining the company as Executive Producer a little over two weeks ago. Sorry for the delay...but they have been keeping me pretty busy!
I walked straight into a warehouse in Cardiff for Praxis Makes Perfect, our collaboration with the brilliant Neon Neon. A thrilling experience that has already enabled me to do so many of things I have come to Wales for (work with amazing & inspiring artists, reach new…

So we were successful in securing a small grant from Keep Cardiff Moving which meant we could purchase a couple of company bikes (insert joke here) and kit to get us in and around Cardiff in an attempt to ween ourselves off taxi journeys dependency and to get fit.
All the kit turned up last week and the lovely guys from The Bike Shed gave us a demonstration. Next on the list is to get some training...oh, and to use them (Mike has already put them to the text last week to and from the…

I grew up in a landlocked county (South Yorkshire) and don't have much recollection of trips to the Great British coast, though many of my friends spent summer holidays in Filey, Skegness, Mablethorpe and Saltfleet.
I didn't know what to expect from my first trip to Anglesey. My reconnaisance mission through my role as Digital Producer with Hoipolloi took place in February 2013, and though I intended on working on the train between Cambridge and Bangor, this sight of the North Wales…

Here I am, back from the wonderful weekend away in Mid Wales.

Looking forward to a lunchtime reading of my play "Songs For Swinging Lovers" this Wednesday.
Organised by the good people at Dirty Protest.
Excellent cast assembled.
I've even made a misleading trailer for it.
Finally, all the theatre people everyone I've been vaguely rude about in reviews and blog posts can come and be critical of my work.
Of course, they'll have to make their way to Mold...

The lovely Theatre Royal at Bath was the setting for a packed matinée performance of Relatively Speaking. This was Alan Ayckbourn's first West End success, back in 1967. It features only four characters. This production by Lindsay Posner casts felicity Kendal as one of the four, so the audience was ready for a visual treat, and wanting to laugh.
The tawdry bedsit that featured in the opening scene was in shocking contrast to the plush red and gold of the auditorium. It looked…
