Creating Creative Processes

The title of this could also be 'How I Write, and How I Want to Write'.

My training in college was all about developing work through improvisation over a long period, but that model is an expensive one if you're looking at a professional production, and I do shy away from asking creatives to work for free just to gain experience. But as a writer, building a complete world with characters and a socially relevant story arc all by myself is a tricky thing to do. Over the past few years…

What's changed for girls in school. And what hasn't

Last Tuesday, at about 4.15pm, I left Eastern High School in Cardiff, feeling properly invigorated. Thanks to Eastern Chatter, a Full Circle initiative, I got to chat to a dozen or so girls of High School age, and I was blown away by their insight, experiences and bravery.

I am currently working as Local Engagement Specialist for Melanie Wilson and Fuel Theatre, who are bringing Opera to the Unknown Woman to Wales Millennium Centre in June, as part of Festival of Voice. I…

Being part of the 'Before I Leave' community choir

According to my calendar, I have been involved with National Theatre Wales' new play Before I Leave since 14th March. When we went along to that first meeting and belted out a quick version of 'Under Pressure' and 'Calon Lan', the idea that we might be in an actual play with proper, professional actors at the Sherman was a distant and not fully formed concept. But here we are, only a couple of weeks before previews begin, part of a wonderful and inclusive choir with a folder full of…

Feel Good Friday

What will be, will be.

I've heard that a lot lately and as I go on my journey that is life I'm realising that I have to be patient and allow what will happen to happen.

If we don't like something we have the power to change it. We control our future.

That being said this weeks feel good is from Chris Guillebeau who is an entrepreneur who has traveled the world over the last few years.
