TEAM Workout & Skill Swap at Festyrefail

The day before each TEAM Workout & Skill Swap will usually find me counting post-it notes and felt tips, worrying that no-one will come, while simultaneously getting nervous that we won't have enough blu tac and sugar paper when they do. Everytime. Despite the fact that I know that the day after each previous event has been bathed in the fuzzy glow of reflecting how many people have made real, tangible progress on their projects, and the…

Looking for set/ stage designer for promo/ Paid role

I'm looking for a set/ stage designer who can help to create a backdrop for a series of filmed interviews in Bristol.

The backdrop will consist of a series of transparent and frosted panels, which we can back light, and which would be fairly portable and easy to break down and reassemble.

I'm looking for someone who can source the materials and set up the backdrop for the first round of interviews.

For more information, write to me at…

Feel Good Friday

Do you ever think the people who are writing history with their actions or achieving greatness know that what they are doing will be remembered?

I have wondered this for many years. Do the great people we all look up too know that they are going to be remembered in the history books or in the minds of millions?

Or are they doing it simply out of passion, talent, purpose, belief etc

That being said this weeks Feel Good is from Jamie… Continue

'We Are Here' - Yet another participant perspective, but from Swansea...

The dust has settled and I'm now basking in the glow of knowing I was a part of something incredible last week. I must have read every online news article and seen every photo shared. I can't believe that it was back in early April that I became involved because the time has gone so quickly.

My involvement began when I was talked into it by a colleague from Volcano Theatre Company who shall remain nameless. Nameless, becuase she told me EVERYTHING. This was before I signed the…

Private Joseph Moores, Cheshire Regiment #wearehere

How does the poem go, again? 'There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever 4 Stone Street, Runcorn.'

In the #wearehere event, I represented Joseph Moores, who served with the Cheshire Regiment and died at the Somme, on the 1st of July 1916. Before he went over to France, he lived at 4 Stone Street, Runcorn. In researching his life I discovered there were two other men named Joseph Moores recorded as serving in World War I. One served with the Loyal Lancashire regiment, and…

I was there #wearehere

It’s Monday morning. Back to work. Back to normal. Back to sitting at a desk in an airy office in Aberystwyth whilst outside the sun dries the morning dew.

Except I'm not quite the same person who sat at this desk last week. Four days ago, 1st July 2016, I was one of the 1,400 volunteers who took part in #wearehere, commemorating those who died 100 years earlier on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. We represented a handful of the 19,240 people killed on that first day… Continue
