5. INT.NIGHT. CORRIDOR-FIRST FLOOR

The door to room forty shuts.

ELIJAH hastily makes his way along the corridor and knocks on the door of room forty; as he is doing this he takes keys from his pocket and opens the door; knocking again before entering.

INT ROOM FORTY

The room is sparse except for a bed, table and a yellow comfy chair on which CLEM is sitting.

Edinburgh so far . . . .

Hi NTW Community,

So I've been up in Edinburgh for five days now, everything has been going well with The Golden Cowpat. Our ticket sales haven't been to bad and we've been having a lot of fun flyering and performing on the mile. The shows themselves have been strong and the children and parents have been really generous and have…

Home from the Fringe

So my short but incredibly inspiring trip to Edinburgh sadly ended last night. I underwent a three day theatre marathon taking me on an emotional journey, I saw theatre from professional companies, amateur companies, newly formed companies and graduates. Today has felt very strange not being surrounded by performances and flyers.

Here are a few pictures from the renowned Royal Mile.…

My mother (by Lianne, pic: Lianne as Sanny). "Every morning my mother wakes me at a quarter to six. She joins me for fifteen minutes in my bed holding me tight. Gets up and prepares breakfast. I get up as well, have breakfast, pack my things and go out the door. I really love my mother".…

2. EXT.NIGHT. GARDEN’S SALVATION HOUSE.

Perspex and glass-panelled corridors align the building exposing the doors of the rooms of the two floors that overlook the garden and car park area; on which a yellow skip is located.

Scuffling about, constantly stooping down and picking up cigarette ends off the ground is DEWI; he is in his mid-thirties has cropped hair, is dressed in a donkey jacket, jeans and wearing a black pair of scuffed slip on…

Fade in

1. EXT. NIGHT

DARKNESS

The territorial sound of dogs barking; footsteps running; a breathless pant; in the distance, police car sirens wail.

A giant billboard displaying an advertisement showing a beach, a man and palm tree with the logo ‘It’s time to escape with virgin’ breaks up the darkness. There is a slight gap in the fence on which the billboard is perched; a wooden panel is…

A bag full of magic

Looking to have this screen play adapted to theatre. would like someone who has more experience or has the drive and passion to make this happen.

I intend to post the whole screen play by blog; only 35 pages. I will drip feed the scenes over a period of time. Anyone who is interested feel free to work on this idea; lets see where it goes.

I  want to see my work breath and come to life so the adoption is just stage 1 of this project, stage 2 would be finding an outlet…

Pollinate

Great to spend a day yesterday at Pollinate - the WalesLab summer camp.  Loads of exciting ideas from all the artists there - and a great sense of mutual support and creative challenges.  There's video diaries and updates galore in the WalesLab group. You can see everything here.

Posters, Posters everywhere but not a drop of ink.

Today on my promoting travels I've been plastering shop walls, doors and community boards in Connah's Quay. As well as getting the picture of the Branches production out there, I've also been thinking about creating some commotion in the Connah's Quay/ Deeside area to help make the people of these lovely communities aware of the production. If anyone's got…

Edinburgh Fringe

So this is not only my first day at Edinburgh fringe this year but my first time ever and I am very excited to be here. After a long journey sat too close to the toilet I finally arrived into the city at 4.30pm pumped and ready to see some theatre. All my belongings got thrown into my room and I fled to The White Horse to find Kelly Jones in her pink metallic dress, clutching a cardboard cut out of George Orwell.

We caught up on her show Dating George Orwell and made…

My first day at Edinburgh 2012 . . .

Hi NTW Community,

So today was my first day at the Edinburgh Fringe 2012. I arrived yesterday but not until the evening and so didn't manage to accomplish anything of any interest, apart from watching the closing ceremony of the Olympics - thoroughly enjoyed it but what about the Paralympics! Don't understand why those events aren't just included in the Olympics! (Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent then.)…
